G'day guys i have just perchased a set of MTZ 285x75x16, as you guys would have read i was tossing up between the mtz and the dueler MT. Anyway what tyre pressure do you guys run around town? Im only use to running AT's so im not to sure on the muddies pressure. Help shred some light on the situation and tell me what pressures you's run around town.

Ive got 265/75's on the work truck that run 48psi front/75psi rear, but thats a drill rig.
On the lux in 31x10.5x15 im running 35psi and thinking of dropping it down to about 32psi as its a bit rough unladen.

In case you are un-aware, there is a 'Rule of thumb' that from stone cold to operating temperature your tyre pressure should increase by 4 psi. If it increases more than this then you're running them too low, and if less than 4 then you're running them too high.
There is a bit of trial and error involved but try starting with them at 32 cold and see how you go.

I've got 305 MTZ's and run 36 front, 38 rear on the road. That's on a GU wagon.
Any higher on the front I found the steering "skittish" at highway speeds.
Any higher on the rear and the vehicle wanted to tango when I hit a pothole, rough surface, etc at highway speeds. 38psi seems to soften the bumps just enough.

thanks for that ruffy. i have always just run what feels/looks ok. at least now i can have an idea or what to look for.

I have the same size on my GU I run them at 36 around town and drop them to 30 off road and the rougher it gets the lower they go, I didn't do this with the first set and they got damaged, now I let the down every time and they are going really well no damage so far and wear has improved.

Thanks guys for all the reply's. And i would like to say im now a happy owner of some MTZ. My truck looks heaps better with them on. As soon as i can work out how to put pictures on this forum i will show you guys what she looks like. So pritty much at the moment i have them set at around 36psi for around town, just got to go out and get them hot so see how much they jump up to. And to troll im just lucky i didnt learn the hard way like you about airing down! anyway cheers fellas thanks for the help should get some pics up soon.
