paul at kustom kages has done his own gu.not regoed yet but saw it the other day.... VERRRY NICE. painted white couldnt convince him to go purple. got plenty of that colour. i reckon he should bring the gu to mud bulls....... what you reckon paul i may need a tow home.
personally i love the look of the dual cabs but everyone likes something different or we would be in commondoors.
There is a white GU dual cab on the cover of last months 4WDAction. I got a mate with a green GU dual cab. Should be at mud bulls aswell. He got the chassis extended a little and a box on the back and he can fit so much shit in there. I reckon it is great.

Shaneo i would love to have the thing ready for mudbulls but with how much work i have on im not ver optimistic. will try thou.
heres some more pics of my old truck and some of the not yet finished GU dualcab!!!
Thats one hot looking dualcab paul. How busy did you say you were again. Do you have an engineer to approve your conversions and does he look at the rest of the truck or just whatever relates to the dualcab conversion.
Cheers phil
i have a couple of people who can do the mod plate, as far as i know if you need anythnig else modded they would prob be able to do it. or if your thinking unroad worthy they might turn a blind eye to some of your other mods (suspension etc)
Yeh i was thinking springs and tyres but i could probably change them out. I was also considering modifing the rear seats so they stood more upright to bring the rear wall as far forward as possible. Also do you put in provision for rear child restraint anchor points, the main reason i need a dualcab.
i do put in mounts for the child seat bolts, i have to, to get it comply for the blue plate.
dont have a thread for the Gu dualcab, will post some updated pics by next wkend, should be ready for roady in 2 wks tops!
Yeah i wanna do it just need the coin, also need to move the gas bottle from the rear of the wagon to underneath maybe so i get some tray back? what do u reckon?

I like it!!!
Looks cool!! Nice cut and shut and nice tray.
The way I see it, dual cabs let you customise the tray bit to what you want to fit there. A custom tray let's you customise the storage areas more than a wagon. You can put a longer tray on for tourers (more room if departure angle unimportant) or a shorter one if storage isn't as important as departure angle. Obviously, tube trays are an option also!
I considered it for the old Mav 'cos the rear sheetmetal (and tail lights) being damaged (severely) was stopping me doing tracks. It was always going to be a dual cab as my sons like coming with me when I go wheeling and only taking 1 was NEVER an option.
The next Mav/GQ will stay a wagon, but those in the pics really look good!!
Great work!!

i do the gu dualcab conversions for 1400 including glass and rubber for rear window.
but that is without bog and spray as i cant do it to save my life!
$1400 is pretty cheap. Is that you cutting and shutting the rear end etc. Can you send me some pics and the the price for Engneering cert and the cost of a tube tray for the rear end.
