1.3ltr coil zook on freeway?
1.3ltr coil zook on freeway?
hey im looking at getting a 97 mod coily zook, just has the standard motor.
this will be my first zook.
my question is how do they go on the freeway?
i travel from Morisset to Newcastle 5 days a week (about 100kms a day)
also how much is a 1.6ltr vitara engine worth?

Ride wise they are acceptable, not going to be the comfiest thing you have driven, but I make it about 4hours before i have to get out and shake a leg.
Though my soft top is loud as hell, that gets bloody annoying, specially if your trying to have a conversation. Otherwise, go buy a nice loud sound system and its sweet.
Coming from Sydney to newcastle i can hold 120 pretty easily, there is one hill that sorta throws you back down do 90! The droan on the engine at about 4500k gets a lil annoying!

mine gose alright on free ways its not a speed machen but i can hold 100 to 110 alright and i have 235/75r15 tyers, when i had standed tyers i could do 130 alright, if you are manly doing on road driveing try to keep a standed or close to standed tyer then it will go better and use less fuel.

they can easily sit on 110 but dont expect very good fuel economy. Thats basically because the car is reving at 4k + the sierra shape isn't a very aero dynamic one. Also i suggest getting a steering dampner because the coliy's don't come with them from factory and it stops the steering from being jerked around at speed and it provides a bit more feel.
Not trying to thread jack here, but along the same lines, comfort wise, noise level, rpm and economy for longer trips/ bigger daily commutes what would be the engine of choice for sierra owners, the 1300cc twin cam swift engine or the 1600cc vitara engine?
I'm considering one of those engines and possibly a MR2 supercharger, for switch on power for passing when needed.

if u are running near std tyres and go for the vit efi 16v then u wont need the supercharger i reckon.gomulletgo wrote:Not trying to thread jack here, but along the same lines, comfort wise, noise level, rpm and economy for longer trips/ bigger daily commutes what would be the engine of choice for sierra owners, the 1300cc twin cam swift engine or the 1600cc vitara engine?

You'll probably find that you're still doing 130km/h at those same revs, but the bigger tyres throw the speedo out. Eg my 245/75s mean that I'm about 20% out on the speedo.DavePatrol wrote:mine gose alright on free ways its not a speed machen but i can hold 100 to 110 alright and i have 235/75r15 tyers, when i had standed tyers i could do 130 alright, if you are manly doing on road driveing try to keep a standed or close to standed tyer then it will go better and use less fuel.
