What do people use?

I am piecing togetther mine at the moment.

55L tank and cast iron 3cyl rotary pump so far. belt drive too
mates getting the electrical connections and stuff.
hoping to get a 2kw 3 phase motor for nix also.

what can you do to keep em quieter? i am leaning to putting it on rubber blocks and insulated cover maybe?

this is basically it with a electric motor instead.

i had a look at them on the weekend at machinery warehouse in midland
they look pretty good they didn't have any electric ones in there
i'm lookin for a straight 240 one same size

mount it outside your shed on rubber with a cover over it
then run a airline into the shed and mount it for ur connections

Rubber mount and put it in a foam box with the air intake going thru the wall. Insulation like they use on cool rooms should keep the noise down.
Might need to use a small fan to blow across the fins though.

Hoonz - yeh i found this one dumped in the bush. needs a few fittings retapped and petty motor is missing but i am going electric and pump seems to have good compression still.

turps - thx, that was one of my ideas. its going to be mounted under the bench i think at the moment but hopefully in a box of some sort.
