Checkerplate Sideguards for Vit

Post by dxkrazed »

Hay guys / girls,
Im looking at getting a pair of sidegards made out of the checkerplate steel or aluminium.
Just basically wondering where someone would pick up such an item.
Incase i am terrible at describing the sideguards, heres a picture, the steel plate just under the door:

Not something really suitable for a Vit, Sliders would be better option.

And this is a terrible application for checkerplate. The texture grabs the terrain and instead of sliding you dig in.

and it traps moisture between the checkerplate and panel and rusts your panels.

You can get plastic chrome-look checkerplate at Autobarn. I suppose if its glued on correctly it should not trap moisture to the panel.

There's your bling.

However a alloy checkerplate "step" mounted to some strong rock sliders will protect the lower panels from stone damage.
