Post by opindown »

I am looking at buying a swb 84 model pajero. the body and gear box has 320***kms on it and it has a 2ltr sigma motor in it and apparently it was just a matter of changing the sump on it to get it to go in right.
I am wantiung to get as much info as i can and what to look out for.

cheers

cheers. i know it has been fitted with a 2l sigma motor in it. i would be interested in seeing what is involved in changing to the v6 petrol or even the original motor if i can pick one up.

hey mate,
quite common problem was rust in the gutters and top corners of the windscreen...

thanks again. i didnt get it as it had a 5" body lift
bottoms of the doors were rusted out
the floor in the back was rusted out
the tyres were bald
every thing in the engine bay was pinted in export black
previous amounts of rust had been bogged up.

so on saying that i didnt get it but i am having a look at a 91 model wagon today with the 3l v6 in it.

anything i should be looking out for with them?

idle valve sticks on the v6 and the heads are soft mate becarefull, look for water loss and oil burning, i would go for the 3.5 better engine mate i wouldnt touch a v6 to be honnest,

well i bought a 91 model pajero yesterday, after a few troubles of a f**ked relay and the volts dying and the car coming to a complete stand still on scrubby creek bridge near kilcoy. To make a long story short i was ready to burn it as i was 3hours from home and knew no one in that general area. But after replacing the battery and swapping a couple of relays it fired and i was on the road again. then the clutch started. i did make it home however after crawling up the toowoomba range. so first up is a new clutch and replace some relays.
So if there is anyone in toowoomba that can give me a hand to install a new clutch or that can recommend someone well priced. I am also chasing some door handles for the rear doors and the rear wagon door.

Thanks for the info guys
