GU Tacho

Post by sossel »

I have just converted my RD2.8 to a TD42.
Can anyone tell me if the pulse signal to the tacho is the same and/or which 2 wires to connect to make the tacho work.
I dont think the tacho works via the computer but i am not certain.

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks

Sossel

Not positive on this but on my old GU the tacho ran off a pickup sensor that was reading off the timing gears on the front housing of the engine. I know this because it stuffed up and i had to buy a new sensor. Dont know if this helps at all.

i dont suppose you remember how much a new one cost and how you took it out? i took out the bolt and gave it as much of a wiggle as i was game, but no joy. Apparently thats whats been leaking and making a mess on mine.
