GQ Clutch Operation

Post by nalucas »

Hey Guys,

Just wanted to check something. Does a GQ 4.2 diesel run a spigot bearing in the end of the crank shaft for the gearbox input shaft?

Thing is, my clutch is getting on a bit and can slip if pushed hard, but it also feels sometimes like it not disengaging properly, which is a bit weird, as everything generally seems ok.

Supposing it does have a spigot bearing, the one thought I did have is that maybe the spigot bearing is beginning to seize and is causing the input shaft to spin, which is what can make it hard to engage a gear at standstill. Mainly reverse and first are the problems.

Anyone had a similar prob?

Cheers

Nathan

i just had a similar problem
my clutch master cylinder shat itself, therefore when trying 2 select reverse with no syncromesh made it hard, and 1st was a bitch,

we bled it, and it was still shite, so was a new master cylinder and adjust the pedal, and so far so good,
gq wagon, 5inch coils, 33 dick cepeks, rear locker, sliders, rear quarter chop, 4.2 turbo diesel high flowed and anneroid injector pump, 3inch exhaust,
give it arseholes!!!!!
