hey all
looking at buying power steer for my drover
guy wants $450 for the lot box, lines, pump and resivoir whats the verdict ?? too much ?? im getting sore arms from this front locker ;)
also wants $ 1100 for a good running 1600 motor without carb or alt??
85 high roof 1.3, 6.5 tc, air lockers,ruf and 34 swampers. yep its an ugly pos.

How many ks on the motor?
offer 1400 for the lot and see what happens.

check what u can get a mpfi 1.6 for.

i got my mpfi one for $1600 from justjap.com

dont really want efi
trying to keep it simple as possible

in the past, i have picked up vitara power steer setup complete second hand for $200...

$1100 is probably middle ground for a vitara carby motor. It all depends on who is selling and who's buying etc... i think some people install them with sierra carb's for better torque - but i don't know if that is actually the outcome.

just incase you weren't aware - both will need some fab type work to install, or some other bolt on parts.

sticking to carb is definately a simpler option than going efi.

save the $450 they arent that hard to steer ya pussy. :finger:
motor seems avg price but u still gota spend more getting the other bits and your time. i think suzisport sell em for approx $1500 with warrenty.
offer him $900 as its missing bits or $1100 with the bits on.
