cheap shocks for 2" springs and extended shackels front

Post by zookprojectfnq »

I have a 92 soft top leafy sierra i'm doing as a project. I have big plans for it such as making it a ute, twin lockers , reduction gears body lift and a wild suspension set up. I have tiged up a set of drop shackles for the rear. (climax copies) Closed 100mm open 170mm and have made extended shackles for the front 100mm centers. I have brought L/D 2" EFS custom springs running 3 leafs for the rear and have got the old rears re curved to put in the front. I have read through your bible looking at the ideas and have a question>

Cheap shocks: Has any one with extended shackles and 2" springs had success with the Gabriel 81340 vs wagon shocks in the front.
If not what shock and part number

I have a snake racing inverted shock mount kit for the rear and extended brake lines so i will cross that path when it comes to it

VS wagon rears work fine with my 2" spring and 1-1/2" extended shackles.

I think the part number you are looking for is

456456456S785675756E456756A45645643R5689787C6867756H

Seriously, there's been more threads about than you could imagine.

x2

Gabriel part no. 81340 (vs commodore wag.) from supercheap, bout $35.
I would suggest 1" bumpstop spacers to stop the shock bottoming out on compression ;)
98 WT LWB Maruti, 1.6efi, rockhoppers, 2" body lift, 2" springs, 32" BFG muddies, jimny Power Steer, front lockrite :-)
