hi all new to the forum, just like to c some pics of internal cages, mainly where its mounted to the floor. as well as the roof protection rails that go through the cab. cheers

looks great thank u. i looked at the floor rouphly where the cage would bolt down and the floor is very unevan im not sure but can u weld the cage to the floor.

No don't weld it to the floor normally you would make a square plate about 100x100x5mm on the bottom of the bars going to the floor and you would bolt them through the floor using 4, M10 or M12 bolts with another plate on the other side, or if space won't allow this then some large washers on the under side, hope this helps, one other thing is if you intend on competing check with the CCDA, or the organizer of the events you intend on doing and ask what there rules are and that should give you an idea.

Just cause i said so, No but really Even if you weld the plate to the floor the flexing of the body, will stress the floor snd crack the floor and worse if you have tree sliders connected to the cage. What i have also done in the past is used old nissan control arms cut the end with the bush in it off and welded it to the out side plate then made a mount of the chassis rail that comes around the bush and bolt it through the new mount and bush so when the whole system flexes it dose just that and this adds a lot of strength the cage and body, again this is just what I've found to work some times. Hope this helps.

I understand where your coming from. I have welded my cage to the floor pan (stitched only not seam welded). The floor plates on my cage were welded on after the cage was built (i believe this to be normal practise) and they are mounted so as to be hard up against the "wall" of the cabin. the cage did not have any movement after this was all welded, it seamed pointless to bolt it in so i welded it. the way i have it i dont really think the floor pan will be able to flex enough to cause any fatigue (lets hope) but i will keep an eye on it.

so were u able to keep the interier because i was hoping to if i decided not to go with roof sliders.

the 2 bolt in cages i have seen moved so much i doubt they would hold on in a rollover...
one of those cages then got welded in and now doesnt move at all. nonthing else changed at all
turbos are nice but i'd rather be blown
