Post by beavis »

Has anyone heard or know of the problem that occurs with the tacho in the mentioned vehicle.
I know this question has been asked but i have not yet found a response or any helpful information for that matter

The tacho stopped working in my 4runner a while ago, the connector on the circut board on the back of the instrument panel had a broken contact, I just put a bullet on the wire and followed the board around to somewhere that I could put a o-ring underneath a screw. It would have been better if i had gone and found another contact for the plug but obviously i didnt, its worked for over 12 months now so im not goning to bother changing it.
The other end of the tacho wire is on the injector pump and that had a loose plug too, so ive put a cable tie around that just to hold it together.

As I said, its a 4runner and not a 60, so it might be slightly different. Ill tell VSAHARAX to have a gawk at this thread too, he knows his 60 series cruisers like the back of his hand. Let us know how you go mate

that would be good, might check the injector pump for a pickup but cant remember there being 1 off hand.

Thought it may be off the alternator but can t really trace a pickup back from that either, next thing is to get 1 from the wreckers i suppose.....

Cheers for the input though.
