Tcase outputs loose?
Tcase outputs loose?
finaly found out why i get so much vibration. tcase outputs are lose.
what would i need to do to fix this? i do have rockhopper gears in so does that mean they will need replacing too?
i do know its hard to say without looking at it and pulling it apart
thanks

Tcase ouputs are loose?? But you cant crack the nuts?? Mmmm i think you need a bit more of a clear description as B4T asked what exactly is loose?brendan_h wrote:yet to take the thing off and have a closer look.
a while ago i tryed to take the nuts off but could no get them off. tryed everything and just coudnt get them to crack
I don't think the flanges on the output shafts should be loose, particularly if you can't crack the nuts. Does the flange move independantly of the output? Or do they both move indicating the issue is inside the case?
The issue isn't because the slip joint in the driveshaft is over-extended and allowing it to move around is it?

shafts is fine i did cheak that.
i think it could be inside the case. if i move the front one i can see it move in the back. taking it out tomrow to see and will probably open it up and have a look. only thing i can think of is the bearings are shot?
anyone know of an exploded view of the tcase?

yes the tcase has got some play in the gears. but how much is normal i wouldnt know. it vibrates realy realy bad epecially when accelerating and downshifting into 2nd.
ive got series 1 rockhoppers gears (84% low) in it and want to get series 4 (187% low) so to fix my problem if its just a matter of changing gears then i am all in for it. does the rockhopper gears replace everything inside?

Can anyone tell me what size nut it is on the back of the transfer case flange ? My 28mm socket is an average fit but with the CRC and breaker bar on it is starting to slip and round the nut off
