4WD light not working

Post by mangion »

Got an 03 SR5, and noticed the dash light wont come on when 4wd is locked. Flashes every now and then when bouncing off road, but still no good.. Ckecked fuse and globe and were good, any ideas?

dodgy plug or damaged wire- they arent earthed to the box, so theres two wires to check to see if its engaging.

If its ADD, its a whoooole new ball game because theres about 5 different sensors a motor, vaccum actutator and little control computer to play with

Just bypass the ADD by applying constant vacuum on the "engage" port (the one closer to the diff centre), and fit some free wheeling hubs. Long term, it will save wear on your CV's by not constantly driving them.

i had this problem on mine, a wire had pulled out of a socket, so i just soldered it back on an taped it up. if you follow the loom up from the 'add' pump thing you should find conections, just check ova them. if it is them its a simple fix. also like suggested above, go free wheeling hubs they will help save all of your components. i did on my IFS.

cheers
