longer shocks

Post by lay80n »

Just after suggestions for shocks. i got a 85 f75 rocky with custom leaves (2 inch lift) and spring mounts moved for bit more lift ( .5 inch or so) and slightly longer leaf pack. at the moment i got ome nitrochargers on and can top these out in travel pretty easy esp. the front ( my shackles don't even point down yet when they top out). rear is not too bad cause tyres hit inner guards first (body lift on way there). Any one know of a longer shock brand or another model shock that will fit. front chocks a pin style top and eye bottom, rear are eye both ends. Also any info on extended shackles would be great too.

thanks
layto.

Your rear shocks are eyes both ends??? Strange, my F75 has same front and rear, pin top, eye bottom. As for longer shocks, do a bit of homework, without shock fitted, measure shock mount to mount on full compression, and full extension. Then head for a good shock shop, grab their manual, and look at the compression and extension measurements. See if you can find something this way. A question, do you have any problems with the steering stops on the axles fouling with the lower end of the shock stone guard?

Thanks. i already got the measurements and just gotta check shocks out, just wasn't sure what anyone else was running. is there anyone that got extended shackles on a rocky, if so what you running, custom or already made. how long, how much lift and extra travel etc.
cheers

p.s. shocks are pin top at rear too, memory not that good lol
