Re: lift kits legalities
Increase of 1/3 Bumpstop height and increase of 15mm in diameter of tyres, note this may change as of 1 January 2009 as there is talk of Queensland adopting the National Code of Practise.x8rules wrote:whats the legals to lift kits and bigger tyres on a 2004 x8 AWD how high how big can i go? thanks for any feedback .

alien, check out WA DPI website, I looked the other day and they do not state any maximum lift now.
HOWEVER, they do still leave it as a bit of a grey area by stating that it must handle as per manufacturer and some might say that a large lift (or anylift for that matter) fails against that statement.
Have heard from another source that only "legislation" is the height of headlights under ADR.
Just some food for thought.

2" from bumpstop clearance ??? What is standard bumpstop clearance???
I have measured clearances of new vehicles on the lot and they vary an inch. Also for a Nissan, (Nissan) themselves, and also Vic roads cant tell me what standard bumpstop clearance is. SO, where is standard height for US to start our base height to determine the height of our suspension lift ???? (just some food for thought).
Another thought is, If I was to buy a (Nissan) with a H/D tow pack #NOTE this tow pack lifts a Nissan by 1", is this now the factory standard height ????

NOW ABLE TOO SAY WHAT I WANT WITHOUT FEAR OF LOOSING SALES.
The person who says it cannot be done should not interrupt the person doing it.
