crawler gears for Landcruiser Split Transfer Case

Post by hutzi*RJ70*bundera »

hey there, anyone know of any other option of crawler gears to suit Bundera with the landcruiser split case, the gearmaster sets offered by Marks appear to be the only product on the market!!!
thanks

I have been looking for crawler gears for a R151F gearbox, as fitted to bundera. However when I contacted Marlin they asked for pictures and then emailed back stating they don't do them.

nah man.. too busy with other stuff and i havent had an opportunity to chase up any parts.. i still think it would work its just a matter of sourcing parts, putting em in and away you go..

going by whats available on the market its gotta be the cheapest option out there.

What transfer case does your bundy have in it? Centre rear output with a forward shift case?

if it does, you could probably adapt a hilux gear drive case onto the back of your R151 (ive done this in a hilux) and then fit crawler gears into those- theres tonnes of gears for hilux's around the place

yeah so besides parting with 1800 for gearmasters gears, looking into these second hand gears from factory units looks like the go, not sure exactly what transfer case it is, its behind the G52 gearbox and the bundera is a 87 rj70.
thanks for your replys

Don't bundy's have a Hilux drive trian?

Marks do a 43%. They stopped making the 68% gears.

get a hilux t-case, mount it to ya gearbox, then put a back adaptor plate of a toy box in the bolt your tcase to it. Duals, shouldn't be to costly but you'll need a bigger WB to just fit it! lol

so then is it possible to mount a hilux t-case to my G52 gearbox and then use some hilux gears, which are heaps cheaper, or will tail shaft outputs be in completely wrong spot????

Hilux - centre output
Crusier(early) - offset

ive never looked under a bundy, but if they use hilux axles, then they would have a centred rear diff pumpkin, and as a result a centred rear output on the transfer case.

Even the 79 series has a blanked off plate for a centred output on the transfer, but theres a fuel tank in the way!

LJ70/bundy use 8" offset hilux axles.

So they took all the benifits of the Cruiser (offset axles) and then filled them with crappy hilux bits?

The Hilux never came with an offset rear axle. They were all centered.
The bundera runs on offset rear output transfer case. So where it would not be impossible to use a hilux transfer it wouldnt be an easy fit.

Yes I stand correct. Only the front offset.
