Subarus have the hand brake on the front wheels AFAIK (at least MY and L series do). So they must be front.

They look like 60 Series landcruiser rears to me.

Yes they're L series fronts. It's what we use for rear disc conversions on drum brake landcruisers.

Do you have the brake pads to suit these calipers? If so, go to the Ferodo website and look through the catalogue and see what they are offering. They have pad dimensions listed in a section at the back of the catalogue and you should be able to cross reference them from that.

I got the calipers from someone who didn't know exactly what they were off and without pads, and to make it worse they were missing some spring clips (which don't come with a overhaul kit)I have ended up going to a wrecker and getting another set and can now confirm the above stated; L series, 85 Leone fronts, 18mm vented rotor.
It was worth it as I got to remove them so I grabbed the handbrake cables as well as brake line clips and got to measure distance from mount to rotor. I also got a Camry handbrake lever which is the same as the Subaru but it pulls forward instead of back.

Thanks for those that posted.

Not trying to rain on your parade, but I believe the calipers pictures are the Subaru calipers with the larger piston, which can cause a soft/mushy pedal.

Check with ozrunner, I am sure he will give you some idea on what calipers to use, apparently the ones with the plate steel type mounting bracket rather than the cast mounting bracket are the ones to use as they (steel plate) have a smaller piston??

I have read the thread about this and researched as much as I could, I know of someone running the same set up with a Vitara booster and M/C and they also say its fine, as much as OZrunners posts made sense I have seen this set up work which is worth more than a forum post (no offence intended). As discussed with my engineer I am not going to try and solve a problem I don't have yet.......... When it back on the road I will preform some brake tests and go from there. If it comes to it that I need different calipers and brackets or a different M/C then I will deal with it then.

I am currently running Sierra calipers on the rear, with this set up I have a bias valve to reduce pressure to the rear or it will lock up. These calipers will be off in the next day or so and I want to measure the piston size as I think it is similar to the Subaru piston size.
