91 2.8l deisel 4runner, seized motor

Post by Mr Emu »

Howdy

I have a 91 model hilux with a 2.8litre diesel motor. Unfortuantly the motor has seized. But the rest of the car is in top nick. So now i need a recon motor im guessing and am up for about 5-6grand give or take installed??
Are 2.8L diesel motors the same in a 4runner as a hilux and in a hiace?? Id imagine the hilux and 4runner are identical. Just trying to figure out my options.
Any advice would be very much appreciated as im weighing up if its worth fixing or not.
Thanks Emu

you can pickup a reco for about 4-5k, goos second handies go for about 2k.. pretty easy swap, with the right gear you would have it done in a day.

Looked at crates when i got my engine done less than 12 months ago and there was only one in the country, bringing one in will cost more.
Kind Regards,
