was just wondering how many ppl are running X-links in there patrols??
would have thought heaps of ppl would be for the price...

put one in my gq but with the standard 5 " shocks. it travelled really well but i bent the diff before i could get longer shocks. have gu diff in now and will be fitting it asap. will get correct shocks and let you know. i was happy with it.
only the first roll hurts, then its a ride..

take one for a test drive first !!!

am putting lift in to gq this week and was going to fit all in one go with x link

but test drove one first and it handles like a boat!!

good off road but

not on black stuff
need biger tyres

yep, I run one...... If you want a heap of flex.....cheapest mod you will do.

They work a treat, go for it.

But they are a pig on the road, but you get used to it.
Your truck won't know when its on the tar, so it will try to flex up on the turns....

Make sure you carry a camera, cause the look on some of the people coming the other way is priceless..... :D

I truck mine round the place now, so it doesn't bother me anymore anyway, but you can lock them out to be standard again on the street....

Speak to Glen Dobbin and ask him about the Lockout pin he made up for Harb.....

Looking at doing this as my next mod. Sick of continually popping the left front wheel off the ground. Currently got some ideas down on paper looking at how I can pin it when back on tarseal. Got to stay legal as well. Will keep posted.

Sorry for the delay.....

I had disconnects on it for about a week then took them off, and have never run them since.
I don't run swag bars front or rear, and would never really go back to them now.
The lock out returns the front end to "standard", locking out the X link action.
Its a very simple device that simply screws a pin into a drilled block on the diff housing that stop the X link moving.
As I said, Glen Dobbin built this for me, as I was worrying about it on the road, but I soon got used to it and gave the interlock back to Glen for someone else.....

If it does a fair few road k's your probably better off with some superior superflex drop arms.. the flex of an x link with out the bath tub like handling

not that I know from exp. but I assume it would work just as well with 3 or 6inch lift. It would stilll flexs up the front better and keeps the wheels planted.

yep i got the xlink its very loos with tuff dog springs so i got 30% stiffer springs now its just right . go get it. it. i got on lockout pin left pm me

few q's.... new to xlinks and know next to nothing about them. What welding is required and how do you do castor correction? Whats the basic principle behind it and how does the system provide more articulation?

Here's a detailed description on how to fit one which I did when we where fitting mine. Once you have looked at the link that will answer most of your questions.

The caster is adjusted by where you weld the centre pivot point and the extra flex is created by relieving the stress on the raduis arms by cutting off the front radius arms mounts on the diff and bolting the arms to the X-Link which are able to move on the centre pivot point.

This X -link doesn't have the lock up set up on it as it's doesn't go on road.

Well i am about to embark on the X-Link option for my patrol

Spoke to Glenn Dobbin (sounds like a very nice guy on the phone actually) and well he seems to think it will give my car some pretty good flex.

He also is going to give me the Lock out option to lock the X-Link out for on road use, so we will see just how good the old gal goes after the X-link install

Have a travel ramp at a mates shop i plan to put it up before and after to see just how well it goes. lets hope its more stable in the bush
