Post by Remydog05 »

Just a quick question?

Is a Toyota Stocko split rim the same as a BFG, MTR 33inch tyer??

Might use a split for a spare thats all.

Thanks

splits are quite narrow approx 5 or 6 inches, an 11 or 12 inch wide tyre might have some sidewall issues, and syaying on rim under preasure 7.50 x 16 or equivelent is approx 32 in tall

You are on the ball here, I think he is asking if the diameter is the same so he can run one as a spare, not if the tyre will fir the rim.

Yes a 7.50x16 is a similar sise to a 33" tyre, you need to tell us the dimensions of you 33 though so I can get you the diameters (EG 10.5X15, 275/75/16).). This is the only way I will be able to find the diameter in the tyre & rim manual.

7.50x15 is listed as 808mm for highway tread & 819mm for traction tread.
Don't ask me, ask them. I'm just runnin for my life myself.

Give the man a break. I'm of the opinion that he has 33 inch tyres and wants to use a toyota split rim as a spare.

If it's got a 7.50/16 tyre it will be good enough as a spare. The measure around 32 inches.

sorry 4 the confusion mq
I am saying that a standard toyo split with standard tyre is approx 32 inch in diameter, if he wants to put a larger hight and width tyre on split rim there may be some issues with that. He does not say if the 33's are on 15 or 16 inch rims. Standard toyo is 16 inch rim
as what ruff says, and go back to all same size asap and speed limit a bit

No dramas, I am with you on the diameter thing, I guess we need to wait for the OP to confirm what he wants.

having gone through all this confusion without any of us knowing for sure what he really wants, a split rim and tyre will be considerably heavier, narrower and cumbersome to use than just getting a matching rim and tyre to what is on the vehicle already

Trying to wade through the confusion, it sounds like Remydog now has an 80 series (from previous recent posts) and runs 33" tyres, but wants to put a narrower spare under the back (?)

For that application, a 7.50 on a stock toyota split would be fine.
