auxillary fuel tank filling problem

Post by advdisco1 »

i got a 3.9 v8 disco and have 2 50L belly tanks. They both fill from the orginal filler point using 40mm hoses and T-pieces. Both belly tanks have 1 filler , 1 overflow 16mm , 1 pump line 8mm(to the main tank) and 1 breather 6mm.

My problem is that when i fill up it pumps in about 90L(which is the main) then starts filling the belly tanks which it starts clicking the bozer off. At the start its 20L before it clicks then its every 5L then .5L.

I cant even fill my second 50L belly tank. When i first put the tanks in 4 years ago i didnt have this problem, maybe only in the last 20L but it still filled up.
ive changed all the hoses and resealed all senders and hose to tank joins.
Any advise would be helpful.

sounds like a breather hose is restricted somewhere.
Warn - Dont leave home without it
