Well if you cant run Stauns thats me out. Have 33" rubber on the TJ with internals. I personally feel that they should be allowed for safety reasons. If you want to keep a even field, only allow 15psi for example. If you run beadlocks then you have a better "safety" advantage thats all.
Q1. As for cages, I would like to confirm this more for the Wrangler. I am currently fitting a GenRight 6 pt cage which totally replaces the OEM cage. This new one is A pilar as well as B pilar like the OEM one. Is this acceptable?
Q2. Also wanted to confirm what would need to be done above the cabin roof to make it enclosed?

Juries still out on beadlocks, if one is going to be allowed all will be allowed.
As for roll cage, the rules are there on web site, so if it complies to those it must be allowed. Or go one better and if not sure have a look at a CAMS cage design.

What part of being fair don't you understand.
As I said the juries is still out.
But by your attitude you are doing your sponsors no good at all.
And the jury is coming back with some sad faces.
And if you go by their faces it does not look good at the moment.
It is I who makes the rules and not the sponsors regardless of whom they are.
But in saying that, I do believe that they the sponsors would want to be fair as well.
So all I can say at the moment Piglet is if you don't like it, play else where or start your own event.
This is hard enough as it is getting a new event up and running, without a whole heap of SHI. being tossed around by the likes of yourself.
And as the Big fella says:- get over it and get a life.
And all I can say is build a truck that complies and all will be happy.
I think at the moment it is easier dealing with DOT and VS then dealing with some people on this forum

Q2:- As per soft top, must be 1.6mm steel or 3mm alloy covering roof line, which must cover driver and codriver.
Q3:- Yes you can as long as that model/year/yours came out with that style of door.

Wasn't David's original idea to have a winch event for the more standard type daily drivers?
Why is everyone getting so pent-up trying to turn it into another full-blown winch challenge event when I think it is definitely being aimed at entry level cars to give these owners a sense of competition.
Maybe all the experienced comp drivers who are complaining should just stick to their own modified events.

I agree Stampy . Dave has organised this to get back to where the sport started , basically with stock vehicles with the exemption of some much needed safety regulations . I have been standing on the sidelines for years watching and supporting Daves events and was exuberent when he came up with this configuration for a comp , but sadly my daily driver does not conform to the rules and so with much determination I am striving to purchace another vehicle to build that will comply even though on the strictest budget . I hope the vehicle would be competitive as in this style of event it is not going to be the one the most expensive rig that wins but more the rig which has a good driver and navi that communicate and work well together and are good at enterpretting Daves rules for each stage .
Stampy I think the more experienced drivers are getting a little worried that some nobodies will be able to out drive and outclass them in this evenly matched playing field .
Even if I cannot compete I will be there watching and supporting as I know that Dave will put these classes of vehicle through there paces . The only thing I am hoping for is that it does not turn out to be a GQ UTE showdown I am hoping for a wide range of manufacturers to be in the line up . This event will just add fuel to the fire of which is better at offroading the Nissan the L/C or even maybe the lada niva ..

Can anyone confirm that we are still running 4 point cage in a wagon in production class? I just downloaded the production class rules and it says that a 6 point is required for a wagon or 4 point for utes

Hi Matt, that I do know.
But please refer to the rules that turbo's are allowed on diesels, but must use a cast manifold.
And also the rules have not changed regards EFI:- You are still not allowed to put EFI on models/year that did not come out with it. Did you know that, if not consider being informed, yet again.

At the moment the jury is still in deep discussion and I cannot see them resolving this matter until "at least" the end of the first Series.
So I would advise: Tubes & Secaflex
Please note: the only holes allowed in the outer of the rim is for the valve stem.
The main idea of this Production Series is to get it back to where you do not have to toss thousands of dollars into a vehicle to compete. By doing this it will create a very level playing field.
It will be good to see the winch cable being pulled out without the help of an air freespool.

that is a bit unfair as even a deisel with a cast manifold they can still produce more power than a standard petrol even if it had injection (example car 12 mark has cast manifold 200 +hp standard petrol what max of 120hp with modes) so i take it that it should be called deisel nissan ute comp as that is what you will have a majority of .makes it hard to have a variation of cars.
i thought production ment standard off the showroom floor with some minor modes.
just my 2cents worth but it is true hey dave.

If you can get 200hp at wheels out of a bolt on turbo kit on a TD42 without intercooler or major pump mods, i would like to see it. I think you will find with a bolt on kit you will look at around the 110 - 125 hp and not 200hp.
You should also understand that a TB42 is a lot quicker than a TD42.
I also think in the rules it states standard pump which also relates to fuel rate.

As Matt said there are no GQ's with a turbo and as the rules state you can have a turbo but you cannot have an intercooler.
Only the GU that came out standard will be allowed to run their standard OE turbo & OE intercooler.
But keep in mind also that not all GU's were turboed and the early turboed one's did not come out with an intercooler. So that being the case they would not be allowed to fit an intercooler.

5B. Engines
Engine must be standard fitment as the year of build in Australian Model Range.
Engine is allowed to have after market accessories fitted.
Aftermarket turbo on cast manifold allowed on diesel. No superchargers.

Pump fuel only.
No boost additives allowed.
Fuel tank to stay in original position, but may be raised.
LPG is allowed to be fitted to petrol motors.
Diesel Injector Pump as per year of build in Australian Model Range.
