Bench Seat

Post by dklyne454 »

Not sure about differnet models, but..... can you get a bech seat for the front of a GQ ?

Did the utes come out as a 3 seater, and will they bolt across to the LWB?

Mine ('88 dx wagon) doesn't have a bench seat, but it's got 3 across the front - seperate drivers seat, but joined passengers and middle seats.

Is that a GQ or MQ?

I have a mate with an MQ LWB with the driver +2 across the front and he wants to swap, would they fit? or do we just stuff around with trial and error?

GQ and Maverick both had them but from memory both were seprate drivers with passenger and centre as one unit, of course being floor shift the guy in the middle gets hit in the nuts alot, if you can even drive with someone there.

GQ and MQ are different bolt patterns, I have a wagon 2/3 bench seat some where if your interested.

Some GQ's had 6 seats, driver and 2/3 front and 3 in the back.

Some 5 seats, driver and passenger single seats and 3 in back.

Some 7 seats, driver and passenger in front 3 in back and 2 in cargo section on a foldable dickie seat.

I"ve got a the normal drivers seat in my Lwb patrol and the ute bench seat. Bolts strait in, came in very handy whilst touring as I had removed the rear seats for extra storage. The bench seat is not as comfortable as the orginal seat. Its a squeeze to get three people in the front. Unless there female in which case its a fairly nice squeeze ;)
Anything is possible, it just comes down to time and money.
