gearbox rebuild

Started to take my gearbox out to day, drained the oil and this fell out .Any ideas. Lucky i'm doing a rebuild, and will post pictures .

It looks like part of the bolt that stops the shifter flopping around... :? Maybe..
Could be a roller out of a bearing but I don't think Zook boxes use needle roller bearings.

doesn't look hardend so id say shifter bolt pin
93 NJ,5 speed,2" body lift,32" muddies

i had the same i think its the shifter bolt because my bearings were all good and as smoe say its not hardend

Its just come to light since the last oil change, about 4 mths ago since then, the box sounded like a straight cut gearbox.Noisy as :bad-words:
so i'm doing a full rebuild ;) The oil was burnt a nice black colour,if thats any help :?

Found this broken tooth on the main shaft ,can you buy a new main shaft from Suzuki, Or is it cheaper from the states???? Image

Just rang klosters suzuki in newcastle $336.00 and i need a vin no to get the right one, wtf i thought they were all the same ?? can anyone tell if they are all the same??

I wouldn't call a chipped gear like yours "normal".
A replacement shouldn't cost too much.
If you are re-using all your other gears, why not get a used input shaft from the wreckers or a gearbox rebuild specialist?

the part you see broken there is not a critical part , and its an odd part to break ... also there is no load on that part.

that is 4th gear , and the tooth that is broken is one of the teeth that hold the selector hub to the gear , 1 damaged tooth will not make it a problem

Thanks guys i can get one from lowrange for 134.50 +del, thats why im asking as he wants to know, if a 85/90 us model is the same.

It was due to a bearing floating around the box.I think :?: :?:

My thoughts also, I wouldn't hesitate to put that back in if it was mine, if it was on the drive side of the gear and the gear surface was marked it would be different.

Just got it crack tested :cry: its :bad-words:, so my question is, are the ones from the states same. As i thought the sj413s, are the same world wide.
