Where have people mounted their Boost and Pyro gauges in a GU?? Any pics would be good. Thanks.

Have seen them on ebay and seemed to be the best bet, but have heard someone say they can be can be a bit average with the gauges slightly pointing the wrong way and not looking right.

I have the 3 pod fitted at moment, its fine
will fit the 2 gauge one in a week or so, mate has it and its fine

i only have 2 gauges.

If using VDO gauges the Autron (2 gauge pod) doesnt leave a lot of room for the boost gauge connection. I made a spacer to make it easier, some people drill a hole and run the line through the back.

I mounted my autometer gauges into pods and used the autometer mounts into the pillar , that way i could also get them to properly face the drivers seat .
They've been in there over 2 years now ( and 1 trip round aus ) and haven't budged as yet .

Yes they are the same depth.

I presume all VDO boost gauges are the same size. Is that what he is running

Yep, hes running VDO Boost and EGT same as mine...
im just hoping the fitment into the new pod is easy.. :(

I have gone against the grain and mounted mine on top of the steering wheel column.

I can still see all the instrument panel, so no issues. This picture is NOT of my view through the steering wheel.

I'm thinking of mounting my pyro there as a previous owner has already put holes in my steering column surround. I'll be mounting my boost gauge in that stupid tray thing on the RHS of the GQ's dash cluster using industrial double sided tap/pads. I'm thinking about getting an electronic boost gauge too instead of a mechanical unit.

just mount it on the bonnet and make it look like a vl turbo

Pyro and boost will fit in a GQ into the clock and the lighter space if you di grind the hole properly and with care, i sacrificed both, but neither of them worked, and the hook up to make them light up was there as well.

Just a thought anyhoo.

Hi Mate, can I ask where u managed to find autometer pyro gauges in Celcius ? Ive been trying to find some black face versions...and no one seems to be able to get them.

I found it on one of the autometer sites a few years back, took down the numbers and ordered it through our local performance shop .
At the time these were the only matching gauges i could get with a pyro in celcius , hence why i have a boost gauge with vac on a diesel . I could not find one with a black face at the time anyway .

for what its worth,

in my gq, i have the pyro on top of the steering column and ive got 4 2 5/8 autometer gauges which will be mounted on top of the middle dash section above the air con vents, just using the rip off autometer gauge pods.
