Hey guys,
Anybody knows how to adjust a Feroza Carb to increase power?
I have 32" tires on my Feroza which I use for trailing. I want to
increase its power. Even a 5HP would be good enough and Its okay with me even if the fuel consumption increases. I already have installed a free flow intake, exhaust, extractors and free flowing exhaust.
Some recommend replacing the carb jet but I am not familiar with it.

dont know if playing with the carb jets will really do much, yep bigger jets mean more fuel .. however if your intake valves are standard, your heads and manifold are not polished all your going to do is flood your motor with fuel down low .. ie it will be more likely to bog out at low revs (not what you want with 32's on her and half way up a steep hill!monmendoza wrote:Hey guys,

just as a matter of interest when you installed the freeflow exhuast did you remove the cat (is it legal in your country??) I removed the cat convertor from mine and that single mod gave me the most amount of power so far!

Have to admit tho the 32/36 DGV Weber is a dam good carb, used to run those on my mk III Cortina's, Capri's and even rejetted one to work (and worked well) on my old 1972 202 HQ Kingswood

Yes meece, I think the previous owner has already remove the cat converter as I don't see one under. I did replace the exhaust to a straight thorugh one.
May I know why another carb brand/model could increase the power of an engine while increase your carb jet to a bigger size won't? thank you.

because the weber 32/36 DGV carbs where designed for the ford 1600-2000cc 4cyl family of motors .. i was rejeting and modifying it to go onto a 3300cc 6cyl motor .. a lot bigger motor means it needed bigger jets, your current carb (or a 32/36) is already jetted for a 1600cc motor. the only advantage i could see with swapping the original Fez carb is the fact that the weber has a mechanical secondary throat wheres the Fez is/may be vacuum (and mines a EFI model so i cant zip out and take a look anyway MM will correct me if im wrongmonmendoza wrote:Hello Meece,meece4x4 wrote: just as a matter of interest when you installed the freeflow exhuast did you remove the cat (is it legal in your country??) I spent *MANY MANY* year frigging around with carbs and performance tweeks when i was a young buck, used to race stockcars and was one of the original "boy racers" (bridge ported single dizzie 12A in a 1972 Mazda RX2, dam thing would be worth a fortune now

Meece, I refuse to even look in the manual for carb info, my last one was an IDA on a PP 13B - so that's awhile ago.

Although I've been driving for over 20 years I've only had the "pleasure" of owning one carby engined car. I was so glad when the timing belt snapped and lunched it- then I could drop in an EFI turbo engine without feeling guilty about wasting money!

Seriously, unless the new carby will flow more air (and your exhaust system can too) I think you'd be wasting your time doing any mods to a carby engine. Better off just fitting extractors and converting to an electric thermofan IMHO. Leave the carby alone as pumping in more fuel won't gain you more power unless there's something wrong with the mixtures.
