hi it seems my alternator/ vacuum pump has developed an oil leak so was wondering if you could just replace the o ring and where do i get one from i am in newcastle

any auto elec shop would be able to supply a service kit cost about 10 bucks

Assuming this is a hilux, there is a seal between the pump and the alternator, and also inside the pump itself. Get a replacement seal for the one inside aswell, had mine go back 3 times under warranty until they changed that seal... idiots! ;)

They also tend to wear around the shaft where it goes through the back of the alt so that could also be your prob.

If the oil gets into the alternator it will destroy it as well so don't wait too long with the repairs.

it only just started so i am getting onto it early. I had the same problem 4.5 yrs ago 55000 k's and replaced the lot so looking at the cheaper option at the moment.
