Hi all
I am just about to install a new 3in drop Pitarm but I cannot get it to line up correctly with the steering. I put it on and I get full left lock but no right lock. I know I put it on wrong but how do you know where to line it up on the shaft of the steering box

Pitarm Install
mines still off but make sure your steering wheel is straight in the box.
IE with pitman arm off turn wheel side to side and centre it then place pitman arm on and text, you will still be a spline out or so but a lot easier to setup i found.

Yea worked out great, dived by 2 and got it centered "just about centered anyway"

the problem I have now is the "return to center steering dampener" tried to make it fit but because of the 3 inch drop of the pitarm it does not level up with the bracket.
I drove it without the steering dampener and it was very light on the steering.
Then drove it installed with some modding of the bracket and found it to be firm but a bit heavy in the steering. I am thinking of getting rid of it and putting a standard dampener.

If you don't need it, don't bother. If you steering is working properly you shouldn't need one.
There's no valid reason for the RTC damper. They're a gimmick IMHO.

use a correct sized normal damper & keep your thumbs outside the steering wheel.lump_a_charcoal wrote:The damper will be useful off road, as hitting rocks or holes etc may try and rip the wheel out of your hands.
Throw the RTC in the bin. Or sell it to someone else who hasn't "been there, done that".
Otherwise power steering will help. You'll probably need it anyway with a dirty big RTC on a sierra.
