another lift question (gq)

i did a search and found nothing and what im trying to source is the 4inch lift and im not sure the quality of the brands...
ironman
dobinsons
efs
and what sort of price would i be looking at (ballpark)
and what problems may i encounter...i no about the brake lines but thats about it..

Rear Bump stop spacers including bolts etc.

Mate called shane yesterday, gave card details to pay, and bought a kit with Boss shocks and new flexy springs.. hopin to have for weekend to fit up...

if all goes well, should be done by lunchtime

Just make sure you measure actual height of lift, as dobinsons 4" lift is more like a 6" in other brands.

I would pay the bit extra and go for drop boxes over the castor plates.

Just make sure you measure actual height of lift, as dobinsons 4" lift is more like a 6" in other brands.

Dobbinson 4" should be marked as 4-5", depends on accessories fitted.

Other brands are not what they claim to be.

I fitted a 3" TJM kit and it measured 2" lift front 2 1/2" rear.
This was to a gu wagon with factory Al bar and no other accesories.

Really, I always thought it was the other way around. And dobinsons where bigger than they claimed. We did 2 4" lifts at the same time and parked them next to eachother. Dob's where way way bigger. But also sagged the quickest aswell after a few runs.
My 5" lovells only measured to 4".

Definately go drop box's.... I think they should ban castor plates, and castor bush's.

I've got them as well as Procomps and Dobinsons and you'll love em!!

yep i have changed my mind and im getting the 3inch insted of the 4 because it is alot simpler to install and alot cheap aswell...thanks for everyones help and advice

Remember, most people suspension is fuct when they fit a lift kit.. so is usually sagged 1-2inches. and then add 500+kgs for extra accessories

So when you fit a 4inch kit, it lifts it 4 inches + the 1-2+ for the sag... = FAWK.

i bought a 4" kit with drop boxes from shane and its been in my gq for about a month or two and its a top kit

I've got a pro-comp 4" kit in my Gq with 2" body lift and 35's, you would swear it was larger in lift. Hasn't sagged, farked out, still running fine and it's been in for 3 years. Vehicle weight is at 2.8 T (unladen, 1/8 tank of fuel) on the weigh bridge, pretty much ran out of mods to do, it's the hamburger with the lot of GQ's.

Would recomend this kit on my experience with it. (Murphy can always dish out a lemon).
