TUBE TRAY
Has anyone built one, and did they have any trouble getting it passed in NSW, if so what went wrong .As mine is going under the grinder at Xmas ,but before i chop it i'm building the tray.Is it possible to stick the spare wheel under the tray as i only run 235/75/15s .And making it a tilt tray if it's plausible . Or do you think i should try to swap the body for a tray back cabin, anyone got one and yes mine is a long wheel base
Thanks in advance

why are you cutting up your lwb? What do you think you will gain from cutting it up and going to a tube tray? I can't see any point myself but if there is a purpose I guess go for it. Personally I would just be putting the tyre in the back and perhaps bobbing the overhang
Ransom note = demand + collage
you could make it like chris's zook style side ute, so theres seperation between you and the stuff you carrygrimbo wrote:why are you cutting up your lwb? I chopped my LWB and its soooooo much more practical for carrying stuff. I can fit heaps on. my tray is 1500 x 1500. Its soft top and I have a windjammer from MUcanvas.
I cant fit my spare under my tray as I have kept it fairly low, should have made it fit when I made the tray but im not about to change it now. It would look better as a tube tray but Im happy with what it is, just need a rollbar and headboard.
I much prefer the soft top LWB trayback idea compared to a hardtop trayback which are limiting in leg room.

Please, please, please dont cut it. I cut mine off in 2002. Now i regret it. Somuch so that i made my own ute back to try and fix my mistakes. Pic of my tube tray, (just dont look at my spare wheel placement) and what I have done now.
