problems with the new v8 diesel
gust wondering if Any one has had problems with the new 70 series cruisers as i had.
fuel supply pump went in the first two weeks of having it

Was it a warranty problem or from bad fuel. The only thing I have heard is the 200 series high pressure pumps causing stalling problems.

How the fark did they get water in the starter motor??? I do agree about the hosing out the engine bay comment, to often do I see our utes come back from servicing and still have oil all around the filter. Its good to see some work shops still take care of their customers.
I've heard many report of excessive oil consuption from the the new 4.5 V8, but then those people need to remember that with the extended oil change interville of 15,000 klms for the new engines of course its going to burn more oil.

I have a LC 200 GXL TTD, currently at 24,000 kms. no oil required to be added to the engine outside of normal servicing at 10,000 kms. Toyota has revised the service interval of the 4.5 twin turbo V8 from 20,000 to 10,000 kms. Toyota are now apparently reprogramming the ECU to correct a stalling fault that has occurred on a few diesel 200's. Previously they were replacing the fuel pumps. Seems to have fixed the faults,by all accounts.
