Built an A frame

Post by bru21 »

Last friday arvo's work.

Disclamer: I just built this think from steel scrap. I have not looked up a table or designed it to be safe. you copy it at your own risk.

not too shabby for 5 hours work.

2500 high, 3200 wide. will span the whole buggy length ways and lift the driveline onto my fab bench / of chassis bench. I will be fabbing a retangular frame to fit at the midpoint of this frame and pivot 360 deg horizontally to allow me to tig without out of position welds. figure 8 hours building all this will save 100+ hours of akward welding.

time to commence the buggy build

I built one similar 10 years ago but from thinner material for the legs and gusseted differently. Mine in 3.5m high and 4m wide.

thanks fellas.

I should add the top trolley contains 4 bearings with a 12mm bore running 3mm away from the edge of the rhs - just after the radius stops.

also the outriggers at the top are for the chassis table. I figure a ratchet strap at each end is as good a method as any - to rotate / lock the table.

cheers bru
