some help with parts in adelaide

Post by jussy »

hi guys

just bought my first landrover discovery its a 1994 2 door and am preparing for a drive to port lincoln from adelaide for christmas.

i have noticed that the fan belt is in really bad condition and figured i may as well do the timing belt at the same time.

my question is does anybody know a good place for my to buy these parts in adelaide i live south of the city but will drive most places for a good deal :P or is sprint auto parts as good as anywhere else.

and also any other parts that i should replace while doing this, i have noticed that it i pretty big job to do the timing belt so thought there may be other parts that may be worth while while im in there.

thanks for you help :)

Sounds like you have the 200 TDi motor,
They had the better timming belt,
the 300 TDi had all the problems.

1995 on.
about $350 for the kit. every 80k for me

If you do the timing belt look at the water pump at the same time.

You should only pay about $350 for the kit.
I only do the complete kit every 2nd time.
and only the belt in-between, unless there is a problem.
Look at how many K and when it was last done.
if unknown, do it complete.
