door sill repair

Post by shandy »

hi all

i have a 96 swb vitara with side runner so the door sills are safe. but what have you guys done to repair a slightly rusted door sill? it has had those plastic cover on, but i removed them today.

i have i small problem, once i removed the screws holding the metal strip in place under the plastic cover i realized that i now have small squares in my sill what can i do to block these up?

this is a picture of the square once plugs out

finally, i have easily removed the front and middle plastic covers but i cannot remove the rear cover because it is hidden under the runners, how can i get to it with out rmoving the runners?

any help and would be great

thanks

you can fill in the little holes with some putty/bog.

it should not be difficult to remove the side step to remove the rest of the plastic strip. then you can just put it back on.
