fj45 rebuild paint question (What Colour)

Post by Ausi fj »

I am about to get my fj45 ute painted. Got sand blasted today. I am going all out on this build with full custom interia, 5lt windsor motor and 5 speed box. Custom short tray with roll bar and 15x10 alloys with 35" mud tyres. 3" body lift.
The BIG QUESTION.
Paint will be bright blue with silver trim (no chrome). So what colour should the roof be ? WHITE or SILVER

I reckon if you going a silver bezel, then go white or silver roof. If it was a chrome bezel, then colour code the roof.

Few pics of blue 40's which might help make up your mind.

Complete cab including all bonnet, doors, front apron, and guards should cost me about $300 if he pulls his finger out and gets it done. He has had it now 2 days and is to busy doing other jobs, he tells me. I am going to see him in the morning to give him the hurry up. :x :x

Chassie is being cleaned up with a wire wheel on a grinder, back to metal and repainted black. The old paint scheme looks good but this truck will be all custom.

Got the body back today. Not much rust. Cost $300 to sand blast all body panels.
