Hi All
I've taken off all the Air Conditioning ancillaries, including the condenser fan with the intent of converting the A.C. compressor into an Air Compressor. Its a Sanden SD 508.
My problem is that the compressor clutch won't engage. The fan switch is on, I press the A.C. button, the light comes on still, but there is no change in engine revs and no output from the compressor. I cut the end off the plug from the fan, which plugged into the loom in front of the radiator, and crossed the wires and put into back into the loom and still no result.
Is there a trick to this? What have I missed?
The A.C. worked fine before I removed the condenser, receiver/dryer etc.
Any assistance would be greatly appreciated.

You have probably taken a pressure switch out of the circuit when removing al the other shite.
Try just putting battery + to the wire on the Sanden. Should click in if all is still ok at the compressor.
