Reason being? Last I checked the efficiency of the AC compressor was determined by a combination of pulley size and revs, not engine capacity ;)

Don't notice any power loss at speed (ie full throttle, fifth gear) with aircon on vs aircon off, so can't see that a 1.6 would have any benefits unless you undersize the pulley to get more revs out of the compressor, in which case the extra go of a 1.6L might be beneficial.

:?:
not talkin about it being cool, talkin about driving. drive a 1.3 with the a/c on, then drive a sierra 1.6 with the a/c on.....oh so much better....can still overtake.

I was a Case Worker in Bourke NSW from Nov 03 to Feb 04 and we had sometimes 14+ days in a row with 45-50 degrees maximum temperature. I would be in the pub at 11.30pm watching the Austar Weather channel where it said "current temperature in Bourke and Cobar- 39 degrees"

I didn't have my zook back then, but my old Paj did ok in the extreme heat...
