TD42 Starting Troubles?

Post by Weiner »

Evening guys,

The brother is having some troubles with his GQ.

It was involved in a smash a few months ago and has finally got round to fixing it, mainly the front end.

Comes round to start it to take it home and nothing happens, no dash lights, no ticks.

The main fusible link was missing because of the smash repairers, so got a new one and still nothing,

Earths seem right, all fuses are fine, what else could it be?

Thanks.

If the battery leads and terminals are all OK, try testing the battery. Chances are that if it's been sitting for a while it may have gone flat. Put a multimeter across it.
Failing that, I would check where the earth lead bolts onto the body. If the engine bay gone a new coat of paint, the earth lead could have been bolted back on without scaping the terminal back to bare metal.
Hope it helps

Thanks for the reply.

He repaired the car himself, didn't need a re paint, battery has been charged and is all good, I have got him to check the earths and hopefully it could be that, otherwise we are not too sure
