And as for mates - I drive a Daihatsu, that scares away any potential mates straight away....... they all spot that there's something deeply wrong immediately.
Still perhaps one more misfit over there won't really matter.
Naw sorry to burst ya bubble MM .. but we's are outcasts over here too
sorry about the super delay im finally done with all my uni exams :S
well i had a reply and the only place that stocks the weathershields is the ARB in Townsville, and guess what they also have none in stock until May. Unless there is a 'big' order they wont ship any over. Also the cost is $75
I replied asking how 'big' must the order be for them to ship some over.
That's a bit odd - if Townsville can get them then you would think other ARB's even the Melbourne head office would be able to get them.
75$ doesn't sound too bad as I'm pretty much over having lumps of mud coming through he window..... although I'm slowly getting trained to close the window for awhile when I speed up a bit.
Its amazing how the Mouse can manage to get mud on the roof from almost anywhere.
Still makes me look like I've been trying hard even on easy trips

It seemed like a much better idea when I started it than it does now.
When I checked with suppliers a while back they said give them a list of how many and they'd get them with their next shipment.
It sounded like you guys had it sorted, so I sort of forgot about it. $75 plus delivery is the max they should cost.
Sorry I didn't get back to you sooner.
I'll ring the supplier again tomorrow and see if they can get three in.
Or do some of you want passenger side ones too ?
They're a mixed blessing MM - the mud that comes off the front hits the weathershield and stops but the mud that comes forward off the back tyres now hits the shield and lands all over the dash.
Just a thought.
I used to run them on my hiluxes but gave up on them.

Yes I can see how that could happen Steve.... since fitting the sliders the situation has much improved.
The main problem is ( was ) that the front flares taper to the rear leaving a substantial portion of the tyre uncovered - ready and capable of slinging mud. The rear flares are much more "slab" sided and dont leave anywhere near as much tyre uncovered.
As the front flares are headed for the bin its no longer quite so important. The Jeep flares cover more effectively and more importantly are significantly longer allowing the guards to be cut whilst still covering the Swampers.
Now all I have to do is get on and do it, I've got the flares and new guards ( my little sleep didn't do the old ones much good ) - a bit less pondering required !
Just too much to do and too little time.

The supplier I found was going to ring me to let me know when they'd be available.
They never got back to me and I forgot about it. I rang them today but it doesn't sound good.
They're not sure they'll be getting any more stock from that manufacturer.
The boss is away till Friday, so I'll find out for sure then.
I rang the supplier back this arvo and they've decided not to import anything more from that manufacturer in the foreseeable future.
Guess that's why they never got back to me about when the next shipment was due.
Seeing as they are down my way I'll give them a call next week. I'm a bit skeptical - they probably just resell so might be same problem but its worth a call.
