04 IFS lux to coils front n rear?

hi im sick of my IFS lux and want to change it to coils front and rear ive seen it done before and am wondering wat sort of dollars it costs and who can do it. :twisted:

It will cost a lot if your paying someone, you would be better off just selling it and buying something with coils from the start if you want to go that way.
Toy: 98 TJ with some mods and some bling

I know Extreme Motor Sports @ Northgate are making kits for coilover front shocks. I guess that they would consider a rear kit possibly. A friend of mine has their front kit in his Prado and it makes a world of difference.

ifs is definatly crap,i have 2000 hilux with 31'' muddies and sometimes it surprises me. alot of the time it gets hung up on silly things. i plan on gettin more travel on the rear and a couple of auto lockers, think this would make it really capable! any ideas on gettin good travel from rear of ifs trucks?

The shocks should be bottoming out before the rear springs do, longer shocks/invert them.

Try locking it up front with an auto locker I wouldnt do the rear with anything other than an air locker. Thats just my preference, as for the rear its no different to any other leaf sprung rear so just do the same as others do, longer springs, shackles and longer shocks inverted is a good start.

is it best to buy aftermarket springs or is there an alternative that will be longer and bolt up? secondhand cruiser springs etc :?:
