are you sure you have teh correct chassis?
if you have an early one, it wont match the body mounts or the suspension.

check spring perch size of new chassis where u put the bushes in for shackles on leaf springs,if smaller in size then your 82 model you have the earlier model 40 series chassis where tank is under seat inside the tub,79 and new models tank is under tub,the tubs arent a dirrect swap between earlier and later models, but u can as has been suggested cut mounts off earlier chassis and add to your 82 model

what parts?
adapter kit woudl work
engine mounts to chassis would not.
if you have a 82 LX, i would not butcher this truck, get an earlier one to do a conversion on, yoru LX is worth alot more in origional condition.

you can get different sumps for chev, front, middle, rear

rear sump no dramas.

depends on your kit aswell, some place the engine forward, others rearward.

i have a few different kits, the best one uses the origional chassis mounts, and engine mount rubbers, using a plate that goes across the front of the engine, BUT you can t use the factory lowmount PS pump with this style of kit.

the '82 chassis is absoultely stuffed, 3 major parts of rust damage.

but i can weld no dramas.

how can i tell the year of the other chassis with the brackets already on it???

Mate have a look at marks adapters. They do kits for this. I have marks engine mount adapters in mine. I don't know what the whole conversion kit includes but I olny got the engine mount adapters because I changed to an auto & had to change gear box mounts & also remove a crossmember & fab a new one.
it's never a problem until it can't be fixed, even then it' only a minor set back
