checking suspension bushes for wear

Post by oldmate »

how do you tell if rubber bushes, ie 80 series cruiser type bushes are flogged?
I stuck a tyre lever in there, and there is obvious movement side to side however there is obvious movement on all bushes, including the relatively new panhard bushes.

usually the flanges on the ends of the bushes flog out and hang out of the shackle/mount... otherwise, jack it up, take the bolt out and remove the bush and inspect it...
