Auto in the GQ

Post by the_cookster29 »

Im looking at buying a 1992 NISSAN PATROL GQ II Ti, Petrol

But a mate has said that hes not to sure about the auto in this model,
just wanted to no if there any good, and if they have any major common problems.

It will be used off road, and the only reason i want an auto is because i do a bit of city driving for work and hated having my last manual.

Also if anyone know of any other common problems that the GQ it self has let me no.

Thanks

firstly the 92 is not a series 2 GQ.

make sure when you go to " test" the vehicle you do it at sparrow fart and the car has NOT been started at all before you get there.

tranny problems are at their worst when the oil is cold. When warm, a totally farked patrol auto may work like a brand new one :)

i have an auto in mine and its good i drive in comps and on weekends i have found no problems with it at all but i suggest a big tranny cooler with a fan cause off road it gets extremely hot and you dont want to cook it cause a rebuild can get dear.
