I am lookin at building a dual motor dual gearbox 8000 high mount, I have seen one but I am lookin for any info that I can get. I am also thinking of making it with 24v motors. any info will help

Mark Reilly made one that he ran on his 60's LC in the OBC, I think he had to change over to a standard setup as it rattled itself to bits.
Would be good though. 16000lb max load and high speed, and as the drum is wider you would be able to run more cable.
I've Got all the bits to do the job except the motors which I will buy new thats why I thought I might go 24 volt. I had a look at the winch in the photo at the QLD round last week.
That will be a sweet winch when it is finished. I am surprised that warn or someone else hasn't produced a bigger high mount style of winch. As alot of people want the charactoristics of a high mount but want to fit it to a large 4x4 ie LWB patrols, cruiser etc.

I think they are still sorting it out. Getting good quality solenoids and other stuff is not easy apparently. From what i heard the idea was to make it good first time round.....
