maxxis trepadors???

hey guys,
originally looking at a set of mudzilla's but have found out they a crap on rd(noise, f all k's out of them-is this true?) what are the trepadors like??? much prefer the look of the bias ply but want to know the milage ppl have got out of them. they will be on my daily driver so any help/ opinions will the much appreciated

The only bias Trep that's suited to "road k's" would be the 37 12.5 17 hard compound. All other bias Treps are "stickys".
I've used and sold many sets of these (most being used and abused in comps). One set that have done sh1tloads of road k's plus an OBC and a couple of local comps and plenty of day trips is worn but still going strong with plenty of bite. Hard to tell exactly how many k's as they have been on a couple of cars. It seems that they are comparable to ET's as far as road k's is concerned. They are the most tractive tyre that I've ever had with the least noise.

bit of a waste to use as a road tyre . at $500+ a piece for a 37/12.5/17
i wouldnt want to burn them up on the road .

got a set of 35" radials . they are quiet on road but still pritty soft . ive done around 4000 kms on them now and they are still good in the bush but carnt wait untill they harden up abit. but still very happy with them

I got a set of mudzillas the other day. At road psi they are quiter than my old worn bfg mud terrians.
Very wide stick out past the flares that covered the bfg's. Stick to rocks very well churn through mud great.
Wear out very quickly. saving my mine for play and comp.

If mudzillas are to much for you (noise, ect) then Trepps are way to much for you!!

The Trepp is basically a comp tire, only one size the 37's even ok for street. All other sizes you can't even get unless you are sponsored for comps or know somebody who is....at least in the USA this is how it goes.

I just got some 285/75/R16 BF Goodrich T/As on my 2004 Taco. Great all around tire, no noise on road. Handle great, nice traction in snow...should wear decent. For what you say in your posts I would be looking more for something like this than a really aggresive soft rubber comp type tire.

id say that tyre shops would probably sell them, best asking them for their price

i know around brisbane your best bet is ace tyres and dog tyred.

we run the 40/13.5/17 comp spec on TrailGear creeper locks (thru locktup4x4)


and we also have the 37/12.5/16 762 comp spec on custom steel external beadlocks.

I have a set of 35x12.5's radial Trepadors sitting in the shop ready to go on my tourer Gu ute, just need to pull my finger out and lift it so they fit. Had a set of the 235's on my mate's Sierra and they were the quietest mud tyre I've driven on, and traction is not too bad either...nothing compared to the bias version though.
