I've just replaced the oil pressure switch on my 2H powered HJ60. What a %^$# of a job. For the record a 27mm open ended spanner is needed to get the old cut off switch out. It is extremely tight to get your arm in there to get it out. I have a 2" bodylift, but I'm not sure if that makes it harder or easier. I replaced the switch with a Tridon TPS007 switch. This switch requires a 24mm open ended spanner.
I replaced the switch as I hve to start the 60 3 or 4 times to get the engine to keep running. Oil pressure doesn't register on the gauge and the low oil pressure cut out does it's job and switches the engine off. I have already replaced the oil pressure gauge sender, but that didn't make a difference.
I started the old girl up after I replaced the new switch and it didn't cut out. So maybe it's fixed! Except the oil was replaced earlier in the week, so that could be the reason it isn't cuttin out.................

I read a bit about that when I was researching this. If the PRV is worn out would that cause the oil pressure to take time to build up? Once the oil pressure rises, there isn't a problem. It's just that it takes a while to rise. i would have hated to see mine at 4psi when i did the oil pressure test i got i think it was about 38psi at idle and 90 at 3000joel HJ60
Should get a master guage Mark and confirm that the oil pump is making pressure.
Oil pressure at idle should be: 4.3psi (29kpa)
Oil pressure at 3000rpm should be: 36-85psi (245 - 588kpa)
Yeh Joel, wouldn't be a bad idea, but oil pressure does seem fine, it was just slow to buildup. I started her up again this morning and she went first go, so looks like it was the switch causing the problem.
