THE "silly" question thread
Do you mean the drag link from the steering box to the tie rod or the tie rod between the knuckles?
I bent a drag link last time I was out.

it becomes loose/ sloppy making the steering to have free play in it

Draglink - Links the steering to one wheel
never heard of one "flogging out" or even coming loose and causing play though.

Well it appears you need to stop flogging your link ...ofr57 wrote:Is there any reason that the link that connects the two steering arms together will flog out .. I've done 2 now

Mick pulled it off the road, prepared it for Oz-Rock, where I drove it in the first round of OZ-Rock, December 2005.ofr57 wrote:what ever happened to the "critta"

LMAO I shouldn't post while drunk lol, what I meant was the front left side of the car took a big hit while fourbying today and since the steering wheel does not sit centred while going straight and I've lost a fair bit of right hand lock. The steering box was well and truly on it's way out and I have a new one there ready to fit, could it be that it has skipped a tooth or something in the steering box? The tie rod and drag link don't appear to be affected and the steering nuckles don't look bent. So should I just fit the new steering box and try and get it back to centre?

Can't seem to find it in bible etc...
My mate has the Jimny G13bb engine in his 1990 WT zook along with the Jimny power steering box... Will the EF-EL Alternator Upgrade still fit considering the G13bb is the same block as the G13a?? If not what are his other options for more charge?
Cheers Cheers Cheers

no it doesn't. but you could mod the h20 auto bellhousing to suit the trimatic, or get an h20 with an auto.greg wrote:Does the 2L V6 vitara engine share the same bell housing bolt pattern as the g16's and j20a?
i.e. will a vitara trimatic bolt up to the back of it?

Ok here's one for you guys, my zook has a mk1 GTi motor and there are two small coolant lines comming from the back of the motor that feed in and out of a tiny little radiator (about trans cooler size) that just sits jammed up near the headlight. It's been there since I bought the car and today while changing the steering box I managed to snap off one of the brass pipes going into it. For now I have just used the snapped pipe to route it straight from one hose to the other and removed the little radiator. I will get it fixed eventually but out of interests sake what is it for? And do all G series motors have this? Also could it benifit cooling if I used a bigger radiator and mounted it properly in front of the main radiator? Thanks guys.

hello friends, just starting to mount a j20a and vitara 5speed into my sierra and looking through a couple of search results, there is talk of all the 2lt being aw4. thats fine but what is aw4??? i am planing on using the vtara gearbox -sierra jackshaft-sierra transfer. so if aw4 means constant all wheel drive the divorced transfer should be ok?looking at possibly fitting it without a body lift as the trans tunnel will need work either way
