Winch Hooks

Post by coxy321 »

Hi all.

I have searched, but found bugger all (one thread actually).

Winch hooks aren't exactly something you buy often, but the time has arrived for me to go forth and purchase.

The only place i can find any hooks in my town is at an industrial supply shop. There's several different styles, and only 10% of the ones they had were rated.

What style/type is everyone using (aside from the usual winch manufacturers hooks), and what sort of rating should i be looking for as a minimum??

I nearly bought one like this:
http://cgi.ebay.com.au/4x4-winch-hook-w ... dZViewItem

But the one in the shop had NO identification on it at all.

Cheers!

Coxy, ARB do a hook at a resonable price the ones where the more force on the rope end locks it in tighter. pretty sure the last one the guys brought were $40-$50.

Hey Coxy! Those big ones that you see at 4wd shops come from rigging joints. I got mine from Nobles in Dandenong. Cheeper too.
