Why is it............(not tech!)

Why is it............(not tech!)
Why is it that there are so few rover build-ups in the members section? Cloughy's diesel swap, Grimace's 3rd try at his ultimate rangie, Micka's fender, just to name a few would all be killer threads IMO.
So what's the deal?
As an ex-rangie owner I would love to see more threads on these vehicles. Obviously there are some killer builds happening, why are they not being shown?

Wanted: Car trailer or beaver tail truck, let me know what you got
Oh and there is a low budget rebuild of a mates in the shed, which will hopefully be moveing tomorrow, blue hiline, 350chev, Lux rear centre with 30 spline jacmacs, 4.1 rover front, 35's and basic, but no pics yet and by now they'll be of the finished product only

My Fender died a tragic death a little while back and I now have BOB - Aquarangie's old 87 Classic.
I neglected to get any pics of building the diffs and putting it all under, and photos of the RoverTracks stuff were forgotten about too.
Then there was the lift I did and the 37" Creepies and the new sliders that are going on.
Pretty farkin slack of me really

Cloughy: I am a dirty, dirty lurker on aulro and have read your build with great interest/admiration but Outers is my intardweb hangout. You did not explain why you did not post up here?
Micka: Sorry to hear about your fender dude. Time to get the camera out and start snapping your classic! Going off your fender it will be an awesome build.
Grimace: Where you at bitch? You heard back from Rovertym yet?
Aquarangie: You sold your classic to Micka. What are you building now?

Maybe I'll do some cutting and pasteing soon

I actually had very little time to get everything in it and have it driving, so the camera was not a priority.v840 wrote: Micka: Sorry to hear about your fender dude. Time to get the camera out and start snapping your classic! Going off your fender it will be an awesome build.
Should have taken a pic of my 1.5t mini excavator (Scoop) holding up the front of BOB while HIJACK and I put the complete front diff assembly in. Would make a great WH&S picture.
Most of the work on mine was already done by Aquarangie. I just did: Toy conversion 4.3:1, Detroit rear locker, ARB for front not yet fitted, Scorpion trailing arms from my Fender, 3" Suspension lift using Lovells gear from Zordo, Rock lights, UHF, RoverTracks 30 spline rear axels, RoverTracks 30 spline front axels, Longfield 30 spline CVs, RoverTracks custom drive flanges, Relocated the steering damper with RoverTracks kit, New front rotors.
To do is: New sliders, mod rear bar for spare wheel carrier - 37" spare takes up way too much room in the back, 49% Maxi-drive gears, extractors and new exhaust. And then that's pretty much it.
Oh...and wheel the shit out of it in the process
I didn't think it was important when I did mine. My future ex wife took some photos but can't find them.
At one stage it was just a Chev sitting in a chassis on saw stools........... no diffs or anything else and now it is this wonderful POS!
People might have been really interested in how you mate a Chev to a C9, etc but there are no pics.
Next time, DL

After I sold the 87 Hi-Line to Micka, I bought a 90 Vogue SE off Grimace. Spent about 4 months prety much rebuilding thre whole thing as I had planeedf to keep it or quite a while but I never got to enjoy my hard work as it went up in flames one day (oil cooler lines decided it had enough, hot oil hit the drivers exhaust manifold and the rest was history). Good way to watch $15K burn up into the air
I currently have a 88 Rangie that a bloke in our club (Hobie18 on here) has spotted on aulro. Guy wanted the bits, I wanted the Rangie and I needed something quick to get on the road and out wheeling again so it was a good buy because apart from a rust hole in the passenger side and a couple of tie rod ends, it was a pretty easy Rangie to get regoed. I wasn't keen on going back to a manual but it was a good price and I can't whinge. I won't be keeping it (probably run the rego out and striip it) because I miss my auto but could possibly have a replacement soon.
Micka, don't you like my dodgy fabrication work

Very funny My welding may look like crap but it does the job I made a set for the current Rangie pretty much the same and have passed the test at Glasshouse a couple of weeks ago.Micka wrote:What's not to like, Trav?
I'm actually just adding some tube to the sliders that you made, that's all...oh and some weld to them too.
I will get a decent welder one day

The last trip I did was over Christmas, found a couple of new tracks and some pretty decent ones that may test some of you out (I never had a go, lack of clerance and front diff lock stopped me). Do you know Glasshouse well?nottie wrote:Hay Trav where was the Rover invite?????
I am shore Micka and HIJACK and a few others would be keen for a glasshouse trip. I havent been up there in years and its only 10/15 min from my house. And the rest have never been there.
There's one going on saturday on AULRO if you're keen. I might be going, pending on work as I go back this week sometime.

I would be keen as mustard for this weekend but unfortunately I am going to Straddie with the Wife.nottie wrote:Well to be honest i wont be keen to take REGGIE up there untill september (long story) But perhaps might be able to bum a ride with Micka or someone else for a trip up there if they are keen.
Don't mean to be a smart arse but I knew that was the issue. At least it didn't go flying through the hosuing at a rate of knots which is normalHobie18 wrote:Keep me in the loop for Glasshouse trips also, my rear diff centre has now been replaced following the Xmas trip. one side gear in 3 pieces as was the pin.
See how long this one lasts
Just wait til you go bigger tyres, you'll have the diff changing routine down to a tea
